Thanks for this info.  When I go to download a box comes up with my husbands name and a place for password.  That is what I don't have.  Is there anyway around this?

I can attempt that in the interim (for my own testing purposes), but yes, this is something that is being put up on a server. As far as I know, there are going to be clients running Google Chrome and we cannot get them all to change the way their browser plugins are setup. Many end users will not have permission to change those kind of settings.

Extremely base functionality like this has just got to work with default browser settings. Otherwise this is a bug that I would expect to see corrected asap. Unless we are doing something odd with our code, but a gotoAndStop is about as basic as you can get with Flash/AS3.

Thanks.  I'll save this for next time, but in this case you scared me enough to try checking out the website further & I think its their problem.  I had the same problem on an Android phone & a Mac, & I can get to the pages such as FAQ by going through a google search, & once on one (ex: http://www.naacpdallas.org/faq.htm ) I can click to get all the others except home.

Is there a Flash player for iPad.

Why do i need to join??????

Why is it you can't get customer service without having to join a company anymore. Why can't they just back their products and provide help without you becoming a member of the company and having an account? Why don't you have a choice in the matter?

If you're providing defective items with your website the company should be responsible and willing the actually help the customers without making them jump through all kinds of hoops--like "starting a discussion" about their issues.

I DON'T WANT DISCUSSION. I WANT ANSWERS!!!!!!!!

IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK???????

Plenty Pissed Off at Adobe and a lot of other companies.

Unfortunately, stop(); is as far as I ever got with AS3.

It MAY have something to do with how the PPAPI plug-in parses the AS3, but I can't say for sure. They may have more insight in the Flash Professional forum

Since you neglected to provide ANY OTHER INFO AT ALL except to say (quite rudely) that you're not happy... just how much help did you expect to get with that post?

Perhaps you'd like your money back for the FREE Flash Player?

Nope, and there never will be:

Historically:

2008 (March) - Apple® released the first iPhone, using iOS®. Steve Jobs was insistent and adamant that iOS® was NOT compatible with Flash® and NEVER WOULD BE. Jobs' reasoning was that playing Flash® content is processor consumptive and it drains batteries, thus shortening the life of them in mobile devices. In six years, that hasn't changed. Not for the iPhone®, iPad® or iPod® Touch™. So there never will be a Flash Player® for iOS®.

Apple recommends SkyFire for iPad users who view content that REQUIRES Flash Player.

They wowow.com said that they're removing the sound box so that I won't be able to use you tube. Plus they did something  that the flash drive doesn't work.

Its the first time I've heard the term sound box

I'm unsure what you're asking about.

Unfamiliar with wowow.com, and is the "soundbox" hardware or something related to wowow.com?

Right click the appropriate link above (I'm assuming it's the one for Mac) and "Download Linked File As".

There is no Windows or OS X password required to download any of the files I linked to.

It's ONLY during the installation process that either OS will require an administrator password, and there IS NO WAY around that.

Odd...

I got top the linked page and set up my mic, and pressed "Record"...

I see the "scrubber" moving to indicate that it's indeed picking up the sound from my mic, but on playback, it's dead silent.

I've got a $90 Logitech porfessional headset with stereo noise cancelling mic, so I can say with pretty good assurance it ISN'T hardware on my end. The mic works with Skype, FaceTime, and QuickTime for recording.

At this point I don't really know what to do.

Startup apps won't have any effect on this unless: they're audio/video apps, they're running when you view Flash video, AND they conflict with it. It'd need to be all three.

Usually playback issues come from one or more of three distinct sources.

1. Conectivity/Bandwidth. - Could be firewall or modem/router related. When something slows the bandwidth, streaming video is the first place you'll see it.

2. Audio or video drivers. - Being a new system they aren't likely to be outdated, but they could be corrupted.

3. Software or plug-in conflict. - RealPlayer, GPlayer, or some Firefox plug-ins can cause problems with Flash Player.

Try "hard recycling" you modem and or router.

Check that your drivers are up to date and if necessary, download the latest version to "repair" them.

Look at possible software conflicts (as you've already done) but check for the ones Ilisted - RealPlayer is the worst.

If you manually clear, you shouldn't have need of a reinstall.

NIC = Network Intwrface Card - basically it's where you plug your cable in, and it also controls Wi-fi.

Firmware = proprietary drivers for a router or modem

Router = goes between your modem and the PC - commonly used where multiple systems share a single modem.

"When this happens, sometimes hitting "stop" and then hitting "play" will resolve the problem; other times this does not work and I have to refresh the page."

Based on that statement, I can't help but thinking this is a buffering problem.

Do you regularly clear your browser caches?

I'm afraid I still don't understand.  I just have one desktop computer.  And I don't dare try to take it apart or mess with any of the hardware.

For what it's worth, I actually thought I had the problem solved earlier today.  I was totally unsuccessful in trying to install an older Adobe Flash version so I merely removed Adobe Flash from my system altogether and reintalled it.  I also set YouTube to play HTML5 whenever it could.  Things were going beautifully.

Just now I tried to play a video on HTML5 and it was just as crappy as Flash.  This is beyond ridiculous.  This is insane.  YouTube (and Daily Motion) have gone to pot for some reason I simply don't know.  FWIW, they seem to play better in the day than at night.  At least for right now.

There is now nothing more to do than take the tower in and have it looked at.  But the way other people are complaining about the same problem, I don't know what they can do that will solve the problem.  It seems more a problem of the videos themselves.  They just don't play like they used to.  This is unbelievably frustrating.

Unfortunately, you're thousands of miles away.  All the people who could help me are thousands of miles a way.  I wish I had a way to *show you* how these videos behave on my computer.  But I don't.

I'm going to send YouTube some feedback.  But I doubt that does any good.

YouTube used to be one of my favorite sites.  Now it's just garbage much of the time.
